How to export a CBCT for us
Whatever brand of scanner you use, we need the same thing:
- DICOM format (not the scanner's own viewer format)
- One file per slice (“single frame”, “CT series” or “axial series”)
- Uncompressed if there's a choice
- The whole folder — not just one file from it
Don't worry if the export includes a viewer program — our upload removes it automatically.
Planmeca Romexis
- Open the patient's 3D volume.
- Click Output (top toolbar) → Export Volume.
- Choose DICOM, and pick “Set of single frame DICOM files” (not “Single multi-frame DICOM file”).
- Untick any option to include the Romexis viewer.
- Save to a new folder, then drag that whole folder onto our upload page.
Carestream / CS 3D Imaging
- Open the volume in CS 3D Imaging.
- Choose Export (or File → Export) → Volume.
- For format, choose DICOM / “For Presentation” — not “Keep current format”, which only Carestream software can open.
- Choose one file per slice (“CT” / multi-file) if offered.
- Save to a new folder and upload the whole folder.
Dentsply Sirona — Sidexis 4 / GALILEOS
- Open the 3D volume in Sidexis.
- Choose Output / Export → DICOM (sometimes called “DICOM Exam Export”).
- Don't use the “GALAXIS viewer” or “wrap and go” package — those files (.gwg) aren't DICOM.
- Save to a new folder and upload the whole folder.
Vatech — Ez3D-i / EzDent-i
- Open the volume in Ez3D-i.
- Main Menu → Export → Local Disk.
- Choose “DCM Files” (DICOM).
- Save to a new folder and upload the whole folder.
J. Morita — i-Dixel / One Volume Viewer
- Open the volume in i-Dixel.
- Choose “Export the volume as a DICOM series” → Axial series.
- Don't send a One Volume Viewer (.vol) package — it isn't DICOM.
- Save to a new folder and upload the whole folder.
i-CAT / KaVo / other brands
- Look for File → Export → DICOM (or “Export volume”).
- Choose single-frame / one file per slice, uncompressed, without a viewer.
- Save to a new folder and upload the whole folder.
